CD-Replication Do you need 1000 to 100,000 copies or more? Can you tolerate a 7 to 10 business day production cycle? Then mass replication is the way to go. Mass replication is a high speed production process. A glass master is made from your pre-master CD; metal stampers are then created from the glass master. The metal stamper is inserted in a 60 ton hydraulic press, polystyrene crystals are injected, and a CD copy is stamped out every 5 seconds. Additional steps in the production process apply lacquer and metal coatings to each CD. The copies are then silk-screen labeled and packaged. Because of the speed and complexity of the process, the manufacturers impose minimum order quantities, usually 1000 copies. Once started, the production line cannot be stopped on a dime. The One-Off CD Shop does not have a 60 ton hydraulic press installed in its offices. Mass replication jobs are out-sourced to a select group of manufacturers located in the Minneapolis Metro area, Chicago, Denver, and Hong Kong. We select the manufacturer for your job based on equipment availability and scheduling. We select members for our group of manufacturers based on quality of work and their ability to consistently meet our schedules. Please see our available packaging and printing options. |
